IOT is a big name now a days and it is said that we need to interface sensor with external world and in that analog circuits plays a great role. Can anyone explain the future scope of analog circuit design in the shade of IOT

As I hear it, every cornstalk will have a moisture sensor, so it can go on the internet and tell the farmer when it needs watering. That sort of thing. Who can say whether it's feasible? If it's to happen, then analog sensors will be everywhere, as well as A-to-D converters to take readings.

I'm pretty sure it will be the case that the winners will be
single chip on cheapo tag type construction, and the low
available power on distributed nodes (and drive to compact)
argue against discrete or SSI analog altogether. I expect
the key to wide deployment is the availability of various
sensor / actuator interfaces which can be integrated on
RF-capable technology nodes as clean good-to-go IP
blocks, power managed and power optimized and adequately
robust to abuse. Internet of Things being assembled by
and jostled by random persons of varying clue and carefulness.

IoT relies heavily on sensors, which are analog in nature. Hence, any sort of analog signal conditioning circuit, integration of different sensors, etc before data is quantized seems like a natural choice.

already analog sensors are interfaced with adc and controllers.
many major manufacturers make it.

when it is IOT , it is the same concept but at reduced cost and size.

definitely there will be an upswing in analog circuit design but only by few groups.

more than that , IOT will be in BigData regime and what they want is what we (will) get.

Energy harvesting (no pun intended) will play a big role.
