Hi,
say i have a design that i am migrating to smaller feature technology. Can anyone tell me wht are the key points that i should note while i select equivalent IO pads in this smaller technology.
I need some doc about IO pad with Core cell. How to design them?
why IO is 3.3V and Core is 2.5V?
If IO is 3.3V but Core is 1.8 or less 1.8V, Can core work?
For your question on why IO is either at 3.3V or 5V and core at 2.5V or 1.2V or 1.8V is that the chip will interface with external world which is in all case working about 3.3V hence the chip interface voltage should be compatible with the external world. And its the IO pad that make this interface.
For the core should work at low voltage for various other reasons like low power consumption etc.
Hi,
thanks for replies...if anyone did want to give their valuable input they sure should.
But here is few of my points that I considered while I choosing/replacing
1) Functionality
2) slew rate
3) current
4) speed
5) power dissipitation
6) propagation delay
7) load (output capacitance)
