io buffers placments

hi...,
can any one explain why we need buffer at I/0 pins....what the importance of putting the buffers
 

we need buffers to be able to provide more current capability.
often the i/o pins have a limited current capability, and the load needs more current to operate. Thats what a buffer does ... provides more current without loading the source.
