How to calculate inverter power

Question is based on output from microcontroller.

From microcontroller we have out for driving sinusoide in plus and minus.

For each out from microcontroller we have several mosfets.

Power of inverter is 500W.

My question is for power of 500W and that mosfets.

Mosfets should be for positive 250W and for negative 250W, when sum this is 500W, or
both sides must have mosfets rated 500W ?

thanks
