My dad has (8) cameras that are hooked up to an altronix ALTV1224DC power supply. The transformer of the Altronix power supply and the DVR are hooked up to a power strip. Due to the Alex, we won't have power for another 6 weeks. We need to get the DVR and camera working. Since my brothers are totally useless, I hope to take care of this for dad. The specs of the equipment are:
(8) cameras - each is 12Vdc; 4.8 watts
(1) DVR - 60VA
(1) Altronics 1224DC - 12VDC @ 4amps.
From my Karting background, I am thinking of purchasing either D8 batteries or MK Sealed AGM batteries to power an inverter for the cameras and dvr. Since I am home for the summer, I have no problem driving to the ranch and charge the batteries via diesel generator. We also have an automatic start diesel generator. My question is how to calculate all the variables so I can sustain the systems for 1-2 days.
How many batteries needed?
How many watts sine-wave inverter?
What type of charger?
Is there any way I can have the batteries start the generalor so I dont have to travel 80 miles round trip?
