intresting properties of directional coupler

Hello , I heard two facts about directional couplers:
1.if we take a directional coupler and send a signal from the output then the coupling port also will function as if if the input port
2. if we send a signal from coupling port the it will be coupled to the input port ?
are these facts correct?
I want to use the following component and I am not sure if those properties will exist in it?
