Hello Guys, I need some ideas on how to interface the system clock on my computer with a digital clock. What I want to do is make my computer's clock as the brain for my digital clock (eg. i'll set my time in my computer as 8:00am, then my digital clock will also be set to 8:00am). My plan is to use the following:

rs 232
PIC uC
7segment LED for output

I will use the rs 232 to retrieve the system data clock on my computer and connect it with the PIC then the pic will be the one to process the data and gives the output on the 7 segment LED.

Problem is, I don't know where to start. Any Ideas on what to do first and or stepping stones?
