vibration sensor adc

Hi
Does anyone have a nice front end circuit to connect a piezo element to an ADC. I think it should include an amplifier as well as limiter circuitry to clamp the high peak voltages that can occur.

Thanks, j

Hi jenda,

You can try the ad7730 from Analog Devices (AD7730 - CMOS, 24-Bit Sigma-Delta, Bridge Transducer ADC for Load Cell Applications). It works fine with piezoresistive sensor and it is very easy to use. You have already the ADC inside the chip :

Have a good electronic design !

See you,

Elvis
