Hello Friends...

I want suggetions for my project...

My project is ....from a CMOS CCD camera (with digital output) i have to capture a image and this image i have to store in a MMC card.

I have never worked with DSP...

my questions are....

1. should i use MCU or DSP....
2. how to capture image from camera and in which format ...
3. which format will be better and small size....

Thanks n Regards....

you have a digital output camera , so you got digitized image pixels. but most of

ccd cameras have no rgb out put you have to convert color to rgb need an color space conversion.

a mcu will be enough for conversion but it is up to your frame rate . faster cpu will better.

simplest image compression method is RLE can be implemented easliy with a mcu .rate of compression is related with the image properties. it is good if you have too much repeating sequential pixels. Jpeg is good but you need alot of cpu power , a dsp ic is needed to do conversions.

Hello,

I got the link ....in which i got all the things that are requaired for me....
only thing in this project instade of PC i will use MMC card to store the BMP images....

here is the link....may be useful for someothers....

There is page for book Embedded System Design with examples - look for info on chapter chapter 7 in this page :
https://www.cs.ucr.edu/content/esd/

It looks hat implementation is done based on FPGA with mcu core
