Dear All,
I am trying to read the ADC output of AFE5809 Eval board and communicate the same to Virtex-6 Vendor: Avnet AES-V6DSP-LX240T-G. But AFE5809 Eval board outputs the data in LVDS format and Virtex-6 Vendor: Avnet AES-V6DSP-LX240T-G works on UART interface. Can this be done?

Hi,

Do you have an idea why they choose LVDS?
Did you do a simple, basic calculation about the datarate?

Let's do this simple task for you.
Minimum sampling rate: 10MSamples/s
8 channels
Resolution: at least 12 bit

--> 10MSamples/s × 8 channels × 12bits/sample = 960Mbits/s. Minimum.

I really doubt that your UART can handle this.

Before you go ahead with your project you need to consider:
* what physical interface to use (Single ended, differential, RS485...serial, parallel...)
* how to handle the huge data volume at the receiver side
* do you use a continous datastream or just blocks
* if block: block size, buffer....
