Interchange p channel jfet for n channel

Looking at this synchronous receiver circuit:
If I was to replace VT1 p channel jfet with an n channel, I was just thinking of connecting XS2 the bottom of the tank circuit to V+ instead of gnd, is this a viable option?
Then when the logic oscillator is high there will be a positive voltage on the gate in reference to the drain turning the fet off, this is going to phase shift the oscillator 90 degrees but thats fine, some bypassing might also be good.
Instead of the 7400 oscillator I'm going to implement a PLL.
