Hi,

Is it possible to install a 40GB IDE HD on an Intel 233MMX mother board using the IDE connector?

The pc has some PCI slots free if required!

Thanks,

Fernando

It is possible but probably your motherboard has an old BIOS version and it will not recognize all the space of your HD. I have an old motherboard with a 233MHz pentium and it only recognizes 8GB when I have connected a 10GB IDE HD. It can be used, but not in full. If the bios can be updated/upgraded or maybe if you make several partitions, more space can be used.
