Hi there,

I have been trying to understand the theory on how the servo system works. Unfortunately, the infomations i gathered through the internet are bits and pieces.

What i really need is to understand how the feedback of the tacho/ encoder communicates with the position of the servo motor. And I also need to know how many types of control systems does servo system has. I know some are using pulse and direction/ 2 pulse (cw/ccw), whilst some are using +/-10V analogue signal.

Does anyone know which website or free ebooks that can provide me such information clearly and easily? Hopefully by understanding the theory, I will be able to design/ size my own. Thanks!
