hello anybody
i'm working on soft starter circuit using thrystor . i need som information aboat
isolated thrystor driver
and
phase angle detection using microcontroller
anybody can help me ?
thanks in advance

pic microcontrollers soft starting

Hai alec82
I have designed a professional soft start unit with PIC Microcontroller which is widely used in Electric hand drillers, Cutter and any where you need a soft start for a motor. On switching "on" the unit, it slowly starts the motor and takes full speed in 5 seconds. The circuit used an opto coupler and the same can be modified to run any motor by just changing the triac. But as it is a professional design, i cannot post it here. In case you are intrested to buy the project, or even complete assembled and tested PCB's please do mail me at qrzdx@rediffmail.com or PM me.

soft start using pic microcontroller

Hey, can I ask about your design? Just want to know which zero voltage switch you use to detect the zero crossing. Thanks.

motor starter soft start

I have used a transistor to detect ZC in one design and a 2.2.m resistor connected from live wire to the micro in another deign. You may use any one but the codes differ. Good luck

zero crosing softstarter

Hi ljiachin,
You can use Optocoupler directly from main with resistor and the output of the opto to your Microcontroller to detect 0xing.
Another way is to connect the mains directly to the Pic microcontroller with 3 to 4 Mega Ohm resistor to sense. Pic Microcontroller is having the necessary arrangement inside so that it is not destroyed- provided current is not more than 20 mili Amp.
I used both the system. You can try. Thanks.
