Hi all,

I have a question on dsp.
One part of my project is to find the maximum amplitude of a signal after I perform DCT transform. After I found it, I need to zero the samples/frequency on the side of the maximum.

After that I suppose to reconstruct the signal and hear it. It's not suppose to be some influence in my signal because this compression.

But why? There's a mathematic proove? If, instead zeroing the side I change it by another value it will be ok also?? If someone can help with an article or something like that it will be wonderful.

Thanks all
