How to measure INDUCTUNCE MEASUREMENT WITH DC Bias

i want to measure inductance with a dc current of 5 Amp.

Thanx in advance

measuring inductance dc bias

Hi rauo

Interesting problem, here is my opinion:

U=L*ΔI/Δt

When I=5A=constant you got 0 voltage across L, so you cannot measure L

To measure the L you must force a curent variation in time around this I=5A value, then measure the U variation and calculate L.

Sugested method:

Inject a cureent pulse (whith known Δt=rise time and Imax), around your questient current and measure the max U variation at L terminals. then compute the L.
