i have function generator and that is of range upto 3 mhz. Is there any possible way to get above 6mhz signal using my 3mhz function generator .Thank you in advance

Not without changing the function generator inside, or by adding external circuits to double the frequency(like on pulsed output - using each rising and falling edge to toggle a flip flop).

Enjoy your design work!

Uh, if you only want sine-ish waves, then running through a bridge-rectifier and slightly smoothing the output gives a 'fair' frequency doubling. You'll need signal diodes to respond fast enough. And, yes, the result will be 'proof of concept' rather than 'rigorous'.

Otherwise, there's a bunch of elegant mini-circuits for turning an edge into a pulse. IIRC, 'Art of Electronics' had mucho stuff like that, but mine's gone to a student...
