[SOLVED] Incorrect data received at AT89C51 from PC via DB9

i used two different codes for receiving and sending data from AT89C51 to PC serialy. the code for sending the data from uc to PC is fine. but i did not get correct byte from PC using hyper terminal at AT89C51. shows some strange characters and not what is pressed in keyboard????????
plz help

this may be due to following resons
1)baud rate does not match
tx,rx short of controller or pc
max is not properly working

thanks for ur reply, it was due to high baud rate i.e. 9600 baudrate but worked fine when i set 4800 baud rate in uc and also in PC
