In Axi why is strobe is used only during write operation??

Hi...
In AXI protocol what is strobe and why it is used only during write operation ?? ... Can someone please explain??

Imagine it's that a write needs a block internal "do it" signal that says address has had adequate setup time. Read can just use the address transition detect and the read data *gets there when it gets there" (w/ spec max) for the next layer outward to deal.
