Dear all,

I found some threads about this topic, but quite old.
So I would like to put some questions about the simulation of the ISL.

One post from 2005 says that ISF is obtained using transient functions.

How do I do it ? Are these steps wrong ?
1 - Generate a transient analysis (let's say moderate/conservative) to have an output from the oscillator
2 - Using a pwl source, generate a pulse as thin as possible at zero crossings.

My questions:

1 - Using the calculator what should I do to get the phase noise from ISF ? Or ISF + signal ?
2 - How can we derive/caracterize the ISF back to a mathematical equation. Hajimiri used a generic Fourier series, just to prove the concept, but honestly I didn't get it.
3 - Besides an LC VCO, I have implemented in verilog-A a sample of an oscillator from Ken Kundert. As I cannot use PSS and PNOISE due to the "Hidden States". Is it possible to apply the same (ISF simulation) concept to obtain phase-noise from a verilog-A oscillator output ?

Thanks and be patient with me, these might be very dumb questions ...

Best regards,
Pedro
