what is the edif file in cadence?

Hello,

I used the Design Analyzer (the synthesis tool from Synopsys) to generate an EDIF file. I was wondering how I would import it into Cadence? I've tried using EDIF200 and EDIF300, but I get errors.

Cadence tells me to look at my edifin.log for the error, and the message in that file displays:

error at line :9 between 'generic.sdb' and ')'
External Library 'generic.sdb' not found.

How would I fix this problem? Any help would be great. Thanks.
