codevision vs imagecraft

Dear all,

i now planning to use the following two software to help me write C language and then complie to *.hex for my MCU AT90SL8535

However, i face some problems as follow:

1> which program is better for my MCU to work with ? why ?

2> both of the temp. license are..running out of time....but i still not sure to use which one.....apart form "format" my harddisk, any other "method"......i seek from internet for long long time. i was only able to solve my problem from iccAVR ...but...how about IAR ??

3> How about code vision AVR and WINAVR ? are they good to use ?? why ?

4> for all the above program i shown above, is it true that different program suitable for different model of MCUs ?

i know my questions seems a little bit similiar as i ask before, but i wish all expert can spend some time on it and help me to solve the problem....

so thanks

By the way, i would like to seek any PCB or "schiematic" for AT86RF211 development kit for my project.........also, any information on it is also welcome to provide.....

Thz

imagecraft vs iar

IAR is supposed to produce the most efficient code , but is expensive $$$$$$$

I use WinAVR , and it generates verry acceptable code.

My recomendation is WinAVR , as you wont have restrictions on code size.

winavr iar workbench

I agree with Bingo600, IAR is the best. But it is very expense.

iccavr

First IAR
second winAVR
third Imagecraft

I am working with IAR ,there are some little but solvable problem,But it is better in code size and RAM usage than imagecraft,I two years ago I was working with imagecraft.

for winavr is seems that it is difficult to work with it ,and its makefiles.

Dear All,

so thanks for everybody give me respone, however, it seems IAR is too expensive for academic use.

by the way, i still have problem with my source code from Atmel, those code are zip and upload......it is virus free. there are two versio, sales(*the person who sell that kit to me*) said both are same. i am using MCU 8535.

Thank You very much

Hi,

codevision works fine for me. Besides codevision has a lot of library functions. I use codevision (evaluation version) with ATmega32 and all is OK

greetings from Spain
