I went through the Application notes you sent. They don't really include the kind of simulation I am trying to hold, it was all about a standalone VCO and experimenting a number of properties of it with Cadence.
What I am trying to do here is to force (aka inject) a signal from a sine wave generator into an oscillator through a transconductor pair. If the frequency of the input sine wave is within the locking range of the VCO then the output of the VCO is shifted slightly to be that of the supply.
If not, then the output signal of the VCO is more like a frequency modulated signal, where it keeps on shifting frequency between that of the injected signal and that of the VCO free running frequency.
Now all this is easily seen through the use of Transient simulations ...
My question is: how can it be done through PSS with the new Flex Balance feature that Cadence has added?
Anyone?
Thanks again!!
