It is a device for everyone whose motorcycle (like MZ TS 150) has the battery ignition (6V) with the interrupter.
Targets:
- relief of the breaker contacts (from 4A to 150mA)
- increasing the speed of cutting the coil current (increasing the spark power)
- cutting off the coil current when the engine is not running (about 1s)
- no interference with the motor installation
The module should be plugged in the installation as follows:
The scheme is based on the schema of the following subject: LINK. It was modified much and adjusted to the needs – 6V installation.
The first part is responsible for the “support” of the interrupter – when short circuit, 120mA current flows, and there is high state (6V) at the output, with the open circuit, the output is shorted to ground.
The second part is responsible for disconnecting the ignition coil after a certain time. When the output of the first part is the high state, capacitor C2 starts charging through resistor R5. After charging to 0,7V, transistor T2 opens and gate of transistor T3 is shorted to the ground. After the opening of the interrupter contacts, a rapid discharge of the capacitor C2 through diode D1 and clogging T2.
The third part is the executive transistor T3 with securities. A suitable transistor has a low RDS-ON and high VDS. The choice fell on the IRFP460.
The whole was designed to fit in the heat sink. It turned out that the system does not heat up at all.
The board was made in thermal transfer method, then the paths were covered with tin.
