Hi,

I got a very stupid question. What is IBIS, IBIS model ???
 

IBIS is the Input/Output Buffer Information Specification from the Electronics Industry Alliance. It is a modeling technique that provides a simple table-based buffer model for semiconductor devices. The IBIS models can be used to characterize I/V output curves, rising/falling transition waveforms, and package parasitic information of the device.
However, it is important to note that an IBIS model is intended to provide nonproprietary information about I/O buffers; it is not a delay model for timing analysis purposes.

Hi all,

Asking simple question like this one is not stupid, but lets begin a serios talk and disscusion instaed uploading files many times.
I was looking for a book(s) witch is dealt with this issue in acadamic manner not as AN.
Any suggestion?
 

Digital Techniques for High-Speed Design by Tom Granberg has a chapter that talks about IBIS.

Can some1 teach me how to analyz those waveform? (GROUND CLAMP, POWER CLAMP, PULL-UP, PULL-DOWN, RISING and FALLING)

That's tricky, as there are many details. However, free training is available on-line at the IBIS website:

Several versions of "Introduction to IBIS Models and IBIS Model Making" are posted there. Look under the "streaming" directory for a video version, with audio!

Additionally, many tool vendors offer whitepapers and training materials on IBIS, particularly on their own implementations of it. Ask your vendor for details.
