Hi,

when I send an SMS to a gsm modem, there is no notification or URC generated on this modem. How do I note when I am going to retreive a SMS? Do I have to poll via AT+CMGR=x ? I use WAVECOM W2403A, Fusion Option Card, Siemens MC45 T.
 

You do not get a signal when an SMS has been received you have to poll the modem using AT+CMGL or AT+CMGR.

Does anybody know how this is implemented in mobile phones? I may copy the idea.
