Here is some history. Several decades ago the US Government decreed that all software written for it would be in the newly invented language, ADA. As it turned out, the newly invented langage C was far superior and became the standard for industry. Eventually the government allowed C to be used on its projects.
This is an example where government experts are capable of being wrong.
Another example is the government in Japan tried to keep Honda out of the automobile business and restricted to motorcycles.
