Hey folks
I have this Dual voltage-controlled oscillator SN74S124N

I want to make it send a 45Mhz signal out.
I have understood that it requires about 5V on the VCC pin to work. But I have not understood how I have to connect the circuit so it sends 45Mhz on a outpin. Anyone have any experience with datasheets, and or this type of circuits?
I need to know what pins should be connected to what to make one of the pins send out 45Mhz

Help would be much appriciated!

I think all you have to do is connect a capacitor between CX1 and CX2, pull then EN* pin low ,and apply your control voltage to RNG.
 

Only 45MHz ? Is that nominal , min or max?

Being a linear VCO with wide variations of stray and PN junction capacitance , nominal f is not precise. But figure 2 shows Cx=10 pF (1e-11) for Vf=Vrng=2V

Both voltages can span from 1-5V but are more linear from 1.5 to 4.5V.
Vrng is lowest range at 1V I.e. 10%, while f increase with Vf. Both voltages increase the operating frequency, while the graph in figure 2 shows @2V for both, f*C product is almost =1nF*MHz

so chose sensitive or range voltage Vrng and control voltage Vf wisely and then Cx will be around 2 to 20pF for 50MHz
