On Semi Multiplexer

Hi,
Lately, I am having issues with the MC74HC4051.I am unable to understand the reason for the drop of voltage from input to output whenever the appropriate channel is active. The drop is around 0.8V. I am having +5V as VCC and GND as VEE. No negative voltages.
The load current that is drawn is roughly about 3mA way below the max ratings of the mux. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
- Hemant

On Semi Multiplexer

Max ratings have nothing to do with it. Look at the datasheet
on resistance times your 3mA. 300 ohms or so, would
give you the drop you're seeing. I've seen analog muxes
with on resistance well higher than that.

The datasheet rates on resistance at I <= 2mA and there is
a high likelihood that on resistance measures higher,
at higher currents.
