Hi,

I've to fix an error 51 (laser/fiber optic malfunction) on my "old" laserjet HP IIp plus and for that I need the schematics and the service manual.

I already dl the troubleshooting manual (the classics one) but unfortunatelly, no clue with it . :?

Could you please suggest me where can I get this for free :?:

Any help you can give me will be very appreciated!

Regards,

Re: HP LaserJet IIp plus -> Schematics & Service Manu

I have several of this printers, but no scematic. I found out, that the fuser drum becames to hot due to long "on" to the 300W lamp in the center of the drum. In the box, where the main switch ic located, there is an exotic optocoupler IC - may be this is the reason for the malfunctioning.

good luck

Re: HP LaserJet IIp plus -> Schematics & Service Manu

Hi DocHammer,

It seems that the fuser drum and the lamp are ok.

I'm unable to know if the problem is a "dead" laser diode, or the associated circuit that process the "sample" light (delivered by the fiber optic) that the system use to synchronize the laser beam.

That's the reason I'm needing the schm or some tips how to find and measure the relating circuit...

Regards,

Peter

I would think it's the scanner board. I've seen where they get so hot the driver chips bubble off the board. Check out HPs web site they have a spot called parts suffer thats great for looking up parts.

Hi Sparky,

Thx for your reply. I'll do a "deep" search at the HP web site and perhaps it can yeld something...
