upgrade to an 8-cell battery worth it?
I am looking to replace the cells inside my HP dv7 desktop replacement, mostly because I'm bored and have nothing else to tinker with this weekend. I hate to say this but the first poster on another forum asked the inevitable question, why do you want to use the battery on a desktop REPLACEMENT, and the simple answer is because i'm BORED.....
ok onto the math....
The label on the batteries says 14.4v at 73,440mWh...
it is an 8 cell battery....
Taking into account modern tech and battery monitoring styles of the newer designs -
2 cells in parallel producing 3.6v
4 sets of above connected in series to produce the 14.4v on the battery label.
Entire battery produces 73440mWh/14.4v gives me 5100mA
5100 mA of the battery /2 (since the biggest parallel is 2 cells)= 2550 per cell
is my math right?
thanks....
