How will this mixer output look like?

Hi

I'm designing a mixer for a transmitter. I have a sin wave
from the oscillator and a binary waveform generated by a switch
as the other input. My question is what will the output of the mixer
look like?

Mixer Output

Since it is for transmitter, the output frequency will be high, due to the gian of mixer is limited, if the in put power is small the output is more like a sine base waveform, you can perform a transient simulation to see the waveform.

Depends on your mixer circuit and how quickly the switch is opened and closed. Some mixers are not intended for use down to DC.

What type of mixer would you recommend.
The transmit frequency is 30kHz

I assume this transmitter is to use an ultrasonic transducer or an infrared led?
Since this is not RF you don't need to ramp the carrier power up and down to avoid
clicks on other channels.

You want somthing to switch a 30KHz sine wave on or off?
There are lots of ways of doing that. For a hobby project I suggest using a
analog switch IC. Pick one suitable for your supply voltage out of a catalogue
that you can order and get next day. I'd probably use an analog devices SSM2402.

Bias the signal on the input to the mid point of your supply.

Sorry I should stated in the my first post that the mixer and the
other components of the transmitter has to built with mosfets.
And it is going to use an infrared led.
