You can for instance use the node to import DLL files that you have written in C++ (that's the way I do...) But you can also buy another version of LabVIEW that is based on C programming (https://www.ni.com/lwcvi/)
There is also an oppurtunity to import code that is written in C/C++ but I don't use this function; I prefere to use DLL's because I can distribute this for programmers of software in C etc...
