Hi! I have a PCB layout design which happens to have wrong footprints with few IC devices that were ordered. Like for example, TSOP-6 to SC88, SOT23 to SC-70, Can you please help me guys on how to work around on this error?
You can make PCB adapters that go from one package to another. A SC-70 might fit on a SOT23 footprint with a little help. Your other options are to order the parts in the correct footprint, or redo the board to reflect the different footprints.
This is why it is so important to double and triple check your work, taking all these things into account.
The PCB adapters are quite usefull for many cases, except if there are ICs dealing with high speed digital signals. or high resolution analog signals. Anyway, if you don't have a reasonable logistic/purchase support, whenever possible it is always a good measure to draw footprints in such a way that accepts more than just 1 package option.
