how to wire star delta connections of a motor with on delay timer ?

Also when to use on delay timer and when to use of delay timer ?

can i have their schematics ?

thanks
take care
best regards

the motors that are used with star delta configuration are changed with the motors that are only used directly with either in star configuration or directly only in delta configuration ?

what general names they have ?

Motors that can be wired for star/delta are multi voltage motors such as 230/415V. If the motor has fixed start OR deltas wiring then they are fixed voltage eg. 415V.

how much power can we be save by using star delta configuration ?

how much power can we be save by using soft starters ?

how much power can we be save by using vfds ?

thanks a lot

Here is two version for control wiring,
power wiring to motor is same for both.
Motor must be 230/400V. ( Star/Delta)

Hello munzir,

you don't realy save power by using star delta configuration.

You only reduce the starting current. Y / Δ configuration is a softstarter.

Vfd is to regulate the speed of the motor. You can do like this, but is more expensive then a Y / Δ switch.

can i have the circuit schematics for the soft starter of 700KW ac 3 phase induction motor ?

Also, you told that star-delta and soft starter are the same thing, are they ?

thanks a lot

Hello munzir,

I can't give you a schematic of a soft starter, because I don't have.

Also, you told that star-delta and soft starter are the same thing, are they ?
Yes, star - delta is one form of soft start. In star circuit the motor starts with 1/3 of power then in delta. So it is a soft start.

Wouldn't you make/prepare any for me ?

you didn't use off delay timer in both of your schemes, kak ?

i asked with off delay timer too ?

Hello munzir,

sorry, I can't give you a circuit like this. because my normal work is audio and communications engineering. I have only basic knowledge in power electronics and electronic motors what I have learned during my studies 40 years ago. Circuits with contactors like the star - delta circuit is no problem for me.

For this high power I would use a industrial built starter. I think it is cheaper then to built it yourself.

Here you find basics and circuits for motors and high power switches.

I hope that will help you.

Regards

Rainer
