Hi all,
In the applicaiton of crystal oscillator, there are always an invertor and some capacitors. How to decide the values of the capacitors? Is there any application note?
Thank you!
Basically the caps connected in series should equal the required load capacitance of the crystal.
For example, if the crystal requires 18pF of load capacitance, you need 36pF caps, so in series they total 18pF. Taking into account that the pins of the chip and the traces also introduce some capacitance, in the example above 33pF would be a more realistic value.
