lpkf reset

I currently use a LPKF milling machine.

Worst problem I found, registration problems between top
and bottom sides. I mean random errors that nothing can get rid
off. Otherwise, they work OK.

I've used two models, 91s and 95s. Both are fine for prototyping, and you can do marvellous things with the latter model.

There were sometimes registration problems in two-sided boards, but the reason was always that the registration pins were not on the exactly same line or Y coordinate as the "home" position. Sometimes the control software (BoardMaster) may have reset or altered the calibrated "Home" position, but that was fixed by upgrading to the newest version.

Re: LPKF milling machine

I have Protomat C60 LPKF machine and 5-year experience with it. I have also equipment for covering holes with copper when producing boards with metalized holes. No serious problems occured since i have been using it. Obviously care must be taken when operating the machine as it is very precise equipment. The problem is only with the User Manual which is very poor and lacks of very important information. I had to learn how to operate machine for 3 months :)
The problems mentioned in previous sections (concerning positioning Y-axis for double-sided boards) can be easily solved with some tips and tricks. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask :)
