IrDA USB on Linux

Hi,
I am a newbie to Linux (earlier user of windows)

i want to know : how to use IrDA dongle (USB) on Fedora Core (linux) ?
The dongle is Mobile Action ma620
Ir utils is preinstalled in Fedora Core 3... so I dont know whatelse to do

I have successfully used a pen drive on my system, but i dont know how to use infrared dongle.
