How to use Download manager on mail internet servers?

Can someone explain how does one use a download accelerator to download attachements to mail, e.g. on hotmail, yahoo etc?? My connection is dial-up 56kb/s.

You can use mail user agent, e.g. thunderbird. But your connection is dial-up 56kb/s, so download accelerator is helpless.

If you are using free mail services like yahoo or google, I'm not sure you can use any accelerator.
You should first change your account to premium, then contact them and ask about the proxies and ports of the host.
