How to use analog.ext for spice simulation?

Using extract info.

Hi,
I have my I/O pads in MAGIC and my layout is in Cadence. I know how to export layout from cadence ot Magic. I want to make sure that my circuit does not fail after I export it to Magic. This, I think, can be done by simulating the Magic extracted file. Now when I do :ext, it generates a file (eg: analog.ext from analog.mag) that includes my circuit and pads.
How to use analog.ext for spice simulation? please do understand that I cannot use Cadence (for reasons .. I am not clear. I have been asked to use Magic..)

Using extract info.

Here you stuck with the most common EDA tool portability issus, please try to understand what you want and what are your goals.

From your question, I understand you have your layouts in two EDA softwares, I know very well about Cadence, little knowledge about Magma. So from layout point of view, once you extract your ckt and pads. use the extracted netlist in spice simulator and set the proper stop and view list.

If you can use cadence, then its very easy using Hierarchy editor, but you said you are not allowed, so in spice simulator you have to manually set your stop and view list.

is easy...export gdsII for all and use this in what eda tools you want (if this can import gdsII)....you can combine layout with pads very easy...but will be a problem if you will not have same setup for both eda tool from where you will export/import gdsII... (use same colors for layers for you can see correct all layers )...and I think is more proper to use cadence for you simulations if you want to manufacture your circuit.....in your case is very simple ...export gdsII from magic , import it in cadence , and do all verifications in cadence (lvs , drc , extract spice and make simulations )....I do this with my layouts...I make layout with Ledit and drc , lvs with dracula&calibre.
