How to use a crystal oscilator.

I have a 3.5Mhz 2 pinned crystal oscillator and i want a simple circuit which produces a oscillating current as the output. i have never used a crystal oscillator b4 because i used to use 555 timer in its astable mode. but now i need, super fast fluctuating current and a solution to my problem. urgent. thankx!

Try using www.google and type in " crystal oscillator" I am sure you will find some circuits.

A decent Crystal Driver like SN74LVC1GX04 might be it. I can only find them in surface-mount package though... Might need to get/make a surface-mount adapter :S

There are many good circuits for your purpose. See e.g. the ARRL Radio Amateur's Handbook, any issue.

For a beginner i suggest you start with simple cmos counters like CD4060 it will help...
