How to test BTA 16 an SCR ?

Its small resistor for gate.

Gate have usually small current around 10mA-100mA.

Use metal film resistor type 2W, its small as carbon type 1/4W.

the metal film resistor type of 2Watt is equal to the carbon type of 0.25 Watt . resistor ???

Yep. Of course I mean in size content, for power rating its obvious.

If you read better my post #4 you will see that I didnt say 2W = 0,25W.

Ain't there any difference between triac and SCR ?

Of what power capacity the switches S1 & S2 be used ??

thanks

BTA16

16A Triac with gate from 10mA to 50mA.

S1 should handle at least 50mA, that means ordinary switch.

S2 should handle load on high side.

In post #2 I give You just one example, but you can make lots of other circuit variants to use Triacs, even you can use optocoupler to switch On/Off Triac.

how about S2 , how much would be the power capacity of it cuz its on output (load) side

I post answer for that already in thread. S2 must handle load current. Use Ohm Law to calc current.

If load have 10W and voltage is 12V, current is 0,83A. In that case use switch at least 1A-2A or stronger.

ok , i would use 1A or 2A button
