[SOLVED] how to suppress transient voltage

Hello,

I think you will use the diode in the output line. There it will not help you, only to protect your circuit against a reverse voltage from your load.

Transient voltages will occur at the input. Here the following circuit will stop it.

The varistors will cut overvoltages from Line and the LC - filter stops the transients from the SMPS.

If you want to smooth the ripple at the output, use CLC - filters.

Rainer
