CVS

Hi

Please read my this post carefully if you are a software developer.

My goal:
1. What is the trightforward way of using CVS for example with a CVS server called mycvseserver?
2. If I have some programs from past and I want to use cvs for managemnet of them what must I do?
3. How I could setup a personal CVS server (in my office of lab PC) for softwares I am developing and then whenever it needed to export to an external CVS server?

I am specially interested in CVS for my Perl /Java and C++ programs.

tnx

Re: CVS

Hi,

I made a 2 pages doc in order to set-up your CVS working environement on Windows NT/2000/XP platform :
1 page to install and configure Server
1 page to install and configure Client

This is my own work, so, if you think that something is important to add or if there is some mistakes, please feedback...

BTW : I hope that I haven't put some french in this...

Hi,

Most of advanced programming IDEs Like
Komodo (which I love it)
Nusphere PHPEd
Support CVS client configuration and other CVS tasks.
Therefore, The above approach on setup of CVS server and client is so valuable.

I have followed the approach of the above PDF.

It is suffer from the new features and possibilities in CVSNT but it is fine.

I think The author "manitooo" could improve the pdf with newer version of CVSNT and with some practical examples and also windows screenshoots.
This will resulst in a very valuable document and usefull for dummies like me!!.

tnx

CVS

I will do my best....
