How to set my adc0808's reference voltage to 0 or 1 volt?

adc reference voltage

hi ,,, some one please tell me how to set my adc0808 s reference voltage to 0 volt or 1 volt ....currently whatever i tried i can only set the reference as 5 volt . please help me . ..

can you post the schematic
because I used it successfully at different reference levels

I have not used this part. However, from the data sheet , it appears that the device is designed to work with input voltages in the range of -.1V to Vcc+.1V. The reference voltage can be supplied from an external source, and can be any value from -.1V to Vcc+.1. So, in the case of a Vcc of +5V, you could apply a reference voltage anywhere from -.1V to 5.1V.
