how to read *.chm file in linux?

there are some useful books written with chm format.
I don't know howt ot read them in linux.

may be u can try converting the chm file into .html pages

by using any of the programs who make that in windows
 

en , maybe you can try a program named archmage
it maps the chm file to some port, and then you can read it from your browser.

a merit is you can zoom in and zoom out the text use your browser.
 

Windows already has tools to exract html pages from chm file . Search the M$ for that tool .

you can read chm file linux with:

konqueror in KDE

or xchm for xwindows in general

however there are many chm viewers which you can get from
www.freshmeat.net
 

xchm crashes a lot for me, whenever you click on the table of contents part of the document, but then again maybe it's only happening to me. (that's in suse linux 9.2) it works fine on my mac,
