am28f512 firmware

Hello,

I have a AM28F512 with engine management SW(Intel hex). Is it possible to copy this to any OTP chip? Thing is that I don't want anyone else to copy this SW.

Copy FLASH to OTP??

Salam,

Correct me if i misunderstood you.
You'd like to protect your firmware (read protection).

Ok OTP chips are One Time Programmable that mean you program it one time only.
But you can read as many as you want.

Do you use any MicroController in your design ?

Bye

Re: Copy FLASH to OTP??

I didn't know OTP's were readable. I thought that was one of the reasons why they were used was. Am I mistaken about this?

Re: Copy FLASH to OTP??

Hello,

There is also a microcontroller on HW.
I also tought that most of OTPs was impossible to read/copy.

Does anyone know if there is a replacement chip for the AM28F512 that is harder to copy? otp/prom/else? Troubles? Changes/conversion of code?
