How to print a PCB - negative or positive ?

Hello, I have design a PCB, and I have a doubt, how to print it to transfer it to the PCB, should I use Negative or positive, I am using Pr**oteus, and also I can use E**agle, anyone can help?

The type of resist will determine the positive/negative requirement. If this done by a company, they will specify what they need. Usually they want the file and they do the rest.

Well, I can post you only my way...

I'm using self made PCB's only for single side, or double side boards with no vias.
The desgin is done in Eagle, select print out (I prefer ink jet printer's), on printer settings use foil and best quality, and if possible high contrast.
Select in Eagle SOLID AND BLACK!!!
Before printing the desgin think about the layers you would like to print!!!
Take good pcb material, like Bungard and then go on with pcb making.

For this way you don't have to think about positive or negative ....
Play with the times for the UV-Light and the time for the developer bath.

That's alll.

Easy isn't it?

If you draw board with permanent marker use mirror and draw on board this what you see when print.
first place sheet on the board, using bradawl make points where will be the holes.
then draw with marker..
(cool old scool method)

I have a really easy way.
Print the PCB on the fine print paper, put it on the copper board, and iron it. You will have a board really good

Could you show some examples on 'fine print paper'? Probably a link to a website that advertises this kind of paper?

Hi!
I use for laser toner transfer paper for inkjet printers Lomond 120 g/m^2.
Results are good for me (soic-28 etc) . I print on hp laserjet 1000. My etching solution is (h2o+h2o2 + hcl )

Wow, nice pic, but a question I may have to ask, how did you print it? normal or mirror, so when it is transfered the copper still as you planned? I would like to start my own PCB, right away, thanks

I print normal if I want through holes pcb and print mirrored if I need surfacemounting. (In case of one sided pcb).
