gain in gsm

i have a GSM phone PCB. Now i will measure the gain of RX subsystem , from T/R switch , LNA to Filter . which equipment can do it ? and how to do it?

Hi,
Use signal generator, spectrum analyzer. Make sure u are using 50 ohms. You are measuring POWER gain. You may also use a noise generator and measure the NF.

Refer Textbooks for the procedures

Brmadhukar, Could u provide me some textbooks like that for me? thanks.

Hi,
u can use text book by Egan (Not so sure of the name but is a British Author) and any Microwave Measurements Textbook will do.

Hi ,
iif u measure the gain of all Rx path, u need
to use a RFsignal generator (with 50 ohm port),
set th gain of the receiver to the max gain,
then meaure the I ,Q level ( in Volt)on high impedance
and calculate the equivalent RMS I,Q level in dBm on a 50 ohm load
.

For this application the best is to use the Network Analyzer.

I do not receive GSm signals in my area, but with a Yagi, I do. Is there any way I can re-transmit the signal from my yagi for others around me to be on the network?
