How to measure current in my laptop usb port... if it is 600m amps i want to limit it 5v,500m amps ,which device is used to limit the current.

use usb to serial converter then next use max232 ic to interface the controller to usb...

Normally USB port provide 100mA current and it can provide 500 mA if configured to do so not 600 mA

you could use a current clamp but normally they are used for much higher currents

otherwise you have to 'insert' the VOM or DVM into the line.

Shamik Rudra is right - the specs do not provide for high current supply BUT some boards will allow. No easy way to limit current without incurring a voltage drop.

Why do you need to limit current? What is the load?
